How did you come to be interested in your area of research and what are your research goals? (max 1000 chars)
I work at the intersection of philosophy, particularly ethics, cultural studies, and education. I developed these interests over many years of academic study and work with teachers, principals, and superintendents in public education systems in North Carolina and Indiana, as well as research and writing with colleagues in philosophy of education, educational leadership, higher education, and educational policy analysis in this country and elsewhere. My research goals include further study and writing about research ethics, as well as books and articles about a wide variety of topics in conceptual issues in education, particularly Albert Schweitzer and education, and reverence and education.
Where did you grow up?
Western Massachusetts.
What would you like to be doing professionally in 5 years?
Continue writing and teaching, run a significant project with outside funding.

AG, I'm here at the Teaching Survival Skills and Ethics conference. Beth Fischer says, "Gary, listen tothis!" and reads me the article you posted on the blog, "15 minute ethics tune-up." We both fell out of our chairs! Gary
